My son has a friend that is a policeman and had talked to him about the dogs. The officer told him that so many drug houses, dealers, etc use pits to guard their house. They are trained to attack anyone that comes into the yard or house. Officers often will shoot them in order to get in. Would tear the officers apart. Seems while officers are detained by the dogs, the dealers have time to get rid of drugs. What a mess. I know the family down the street don't deal drugs. He is a captain in the Corpus fire department, and they have 4 kids. My youngest granddaughter use to play down there all the time when she was here from about 8 to age 10, and would spend the night there and the youngest daughter would spend the night with her. I held parties on Halloween and Christmas for the kids on our street. No, those dogs are not protecting the house against officers. Gia had told my other granddaughter er and me a while back that these two fought with the mother and theri sibling in the back yard so had to be put out front.
And as I said, I think the one that got my hand (different house, different two dogs a, didn't mean to bite me but was strictly after Jewel and I had her against my leg, my hand resting on the sdie of her neck. But it could have been tragic damage for a small child standing there with his arm around her neck and the dog got the arm.
