Thank you. Yes, children are a gift (and they don't come with a gift receipt, so you can't give them back). I understand you get to spoil grand kids - then give them back to their parents so they can deal with them. Sounds like fun.

Sadly, we live in California and my son and daughter-in-law are in Michigan. My grandparents lived out of state so we didn't see them very much, but it was special and memorable when we did. Both my parents and my wife's parents lived near us when we raised our kids and were always involved with them. So everyone was blessed.

We have 2 granddaughters, 9 yrs, 10 mos. and boy/girl twins due anytime.
At times, when she became a bit frustrated at the lack of grand kids, my wife would say the only reason we had kids was so she could have grand kids. Congratulations and have fun with yours!

We are lucky enough that my parents live in our neighborhood, just a couple blocks away and they have always been a wonderful help to us, never any strings attached or guilt about the things they do to help me out and over the years they have given so much of their time.

My mom says she always knew that she would love her grandchildren but no one possibly could have made her understand how much. She says she loves them with the same intensity that she does her own children but the lovely part is she can enjoy them and then hand them back to me I am truly blessed, actually I guess our whole family is. I wish you the same kind of joy. Thanks for your post, I'm excited for you and it was a nice reminder to me to be mindful of what a blessing my kids' grandparents are.
It's wonderful to have parents that are supportive, who enjoy their kids and grand kids and who want to help. Our parents were just like that. We were so blessed and I'm glad you are too.

We have 5 grandchildren between the ages of 6 and 3, but four of them are 700 miles away. The 3 year old is sleeping in the other room right now. We keep him as often as we can, and he is the joy of our lives. He keeps us young, and he keeps us laughing.
Thank you. We've been looking forward to this for a while. This one will be about 2,200 miles away, but what time we get will be special. Treasure the time you get with yours. Blessings.
